Whether you’re looking for your next home in Birmingham or just curious about what it’s like to live in one of our neighbourhoods, it’s always nice to hear about the experience from a real resident. So, we sat down with Suzanne, a Hairpin House resident, to find out what she’s loved about living here so far.
We asked: How long have you lived at Hairpin House?
Suzanne said: “I've lived at Hairpin House for four months now and honestly, it already feels like home.”
We asked: What first drew you to the building?
Suzanne said: “Definitely its modern design. I like the fact that it's a new build and it just fits my aesthetic as well.”
We asked: What’s been your favourite event at Hairpin House?
Suzanne said: “Definitely when the residents brought their furry friends down to the Rea Lounge. We were able to make friends easily, there was no pressure, and it was like therapy as well.”
We asked: What do you love most about living here day to day?
Suzanne said: “Definitely the fact that it's not just my apartment, there's many other amenity spaces as well.”
We asked: What do you think of the interior style at Hairpin House?
Suzanne said: “I think the interior style of Hairpin House is really fun. I like the fact that it incorporates the history of what this apartment used to be, as it used to be a factory as well. A Hairpin factory, which is really cool.”
We asked: Which space do you find yourself using the most?
Suzanne said: “Definitely the Garden Lounge. I love the fact that it has a terrace and every single time I look out, I can see into the town. It feels like New York.”
We asked: How would you describe the perfect weekend at Hairpin House?
Suzanne said: “The perfect weekend at Hairpin House would be starting at the Garden Lounge, grab a coffee, and just watch the sunrise here. Go into Digbeth, see the street art, it's really cool. And I would also do some shopping. There's loads of markets and loads of brunch places that I would go to.”
We asked: What do you enjoy about living in this part of Birmingham?
Suzanne said: “I think it's really fun. Digbeth is really different, I'd say. I love the fact that it's very creative and it's very unique as well.”
We asked: What would you tell a friend who is thinking about moving to Hairpin House?
Suzanne said: “I'd say, do it! Don't waste your time. This is the best place to live.”
From the community and amenity spaces to everything there is to explore in Digbeth, it’s clear that Hairpin House has quickly become home for Suzanne. And if her advice is anything to go by, Hairpin House might just be the place for you to call home next.
